Dairy Technology Society News

ABSTRACT

Atlanta—William Kizer, division manager of Coble Dairy Cooperative, Inc., Lexington, N. C. spoke at the January meeting of the group on the topic, "Conditioning for Operating Control."

Minnesota—"The Significance of Recent Research on Milk Proteins to the Dairy Industry," was the topic of Robert Jenness, Univ. of Minnesota, at the January meeting of the society. At the same meeting, E. L. Thomas, Univ. of Minnesota dairy judging coach, was also recognized for his fine work with the Minnesota team which won the 24th Collegiate Student's International Contest in Judging Dairy Products.

Metropolitan—The Metropolitan Dairy Technology Society—serving New York City and the surrounding metropolitan area—heard C. O. Ball, Food Science Dept., Rutgers Univ., New Brunswick, N. J. His topic was, "Principles Involved in Establishing Standards for Pasteurizing Milk."

Kansas—J. E. Edmonson, Univ. of Missouri Dairy Dept., spoke on "Factors Affecting Fat and Solids Content of Milk." New officers presiding at the January meeting were Guy DuncAn, president; Jeff Stovall, first vice president; Al Edmundson, second vice president; Gus Sauer, sergeant at arms, and T. J. Claydon, secretary-treasurer.
