ABSTRACT

C. E. Lee, A.D.S.A. Charter Member, Dies in Milwaukee

C. E. LEE, 82, a charter member of the American Dairy Science Association, died March 16, in Milwaukee.

Born in Albion Prairie, Wis., Mr. Lee was graduated from North Dakota State Agricultural College in 1891 and received his M.S. degree from the Univ. of Wisconsin in 1909. He served on the Univ. of Wisconsin staff until 1915, when he became assistant Dairy and Food Commissioner and Dairy Specialist for the State of Wisconsin until 1920.

In 1920, he joined the Gridley Dairy Co. (now a division of Borden's), Milwaukee, as manager of the laboratory and manufacturing operations, a position he held until his retirement in 1940. From 1940 until 1953 he did consulting work.

Mr. Lee was present at the first meeting of a group of dairy instructors and investigators who discussed the idea of forming an association. There are now four living Charter Members of the Association.
