Milk Flavor Uniformity is Possible

Dan C. Roahen, Research Engineer and H. L. Mitten, Jr., Research Engineer

The Creamery Package Mfg. Company, Chicago

ABSTRACT

The problem of undesirable weed and feed flavors in milk is world wide. Equipment is now available with advanced controls which is capable of almost complete removal of these odors; which assures uniformity of milk flavor; and which is acceptable to public health agencies. The use of such equipment in the pasteurizing line results in a product having better consumer acceptance, an important factor in increasing the consumption of milk and milk products.
