ABSTRACT
A simple test for quality in hay is described, which is based on the degree of turbidity in a water extract of the hay. The test has been shown to be positively correlated to a highly significant degree with high protein and ash content and low fiber content in hay and has been further confirmed by feeding trials for milk produciton with several of the lots of hay tested.
