Department of Animal Husbandry, Cornell University, Ithaca, New York
ABSTRACT
- The addition of 300 mg. of sulfanilamide per 100 ml. of yolk-citrate diluent, gave a significant improvement in the livability of ejculated bull spermatozoa over a 20-days-storage period and prevented bacterial growth.
- Sulfanilamide depressed glucose and oxygen utilization at all concentrations studied.
- The accumulation of lactic acid was increased both absolutely and in relation to the glucose utilized in the presence of sulfanilamide.
