ABSTRACT
Conclusion: Ultraviolet light from artificial sources, of sufficient intensity to equal approximately the radiation received from two hours of midsummer sunshine daily, is effective in preventing rickets in young calves fed a rickets-producing ration.
Ultraviolet light applied to the region back of the withers and with the greatest intensity on the center of the back, is almost as effective as when an equivalent amount is applied to the head region of calves.
