ABSTRACT
The initial investment and overhead costs appear to be disproportionately high for mechanically refrigerated milk cooling units for the small dairyman. The ice industry may have a possible market for ice on the farm and there is need for further data on ice cooling, so a series of tests were run on an ice refrigerator.1

The operating characteristics of equipment may be determined by two techniques, viz: (1) Comprehensive tests on one or more units to permit analyzing the influence of various controlling factors, and (2) Surveys of general data on a large number of units in the field to predict the range within which operation under generalized conditions will probably occur.
